Egyptian officials say foreign tourists were injured in an attack at a hotel at a Red Sea resort. Yiming Woo reports.

Police and crowds gather outside a hotel near the Red Sea, the site of an attack by two armed assailants. Egyptian officials say European tourists were injured. The government says one of the assailants was killed by security forces and the other was in custody. Egypt is fighting a wave of Islamist militancy. What began as attacks on security forces in remote regions of the Sinai, has increasingly focused on targets previously considered safe, such as tourist resorts on the Red Sea. Tourism is critical to the Egyptian economy as a source of hard currency. But it's been hit hard by years of political turmoil since the revolution that ousted President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.
