The undead were out in force at the European premiere of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies on Monday. The film sees Austen's classic tale get a radically different makeover for cinema screens with heroine Elizabeth Bennet, played by Lily James, armed with a sword and fighting zombies. SOUNDBITE, Lily James, actress, saying (English): "I thought this sounds awful, what is this, you can't put zombies in Jane Austen. And then I read it and honestly I was totally into it within two pages and then making the film has just been so much fun." Rising British talent Douglas Booth, who plays Mr Bingley, said Jane Austen wouldn't be offended by the new take on her classic. SOUNDBITE, Douglas Booth, actor, saying (English): "I don't think so I think she'd hopefully take it as a compliment and you know a testament at how brilliant her original work was that it can withstand zombies being added to it ." Matt Smith, best known for his role as Dr. Who, plays Mr. Collins in the film -- how would he personally deal with a zombie apocalypse? SOUNDBITE, Matt Smith, actor, saying (English): "I'd get good music, I'd get really high, I'd get a good shotgun and a sword and I'd find all the good people, protect them and start a revolution I think." "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" is set for release on February 5 in the US and February 11 in the UK.
