ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Sunday (February 7) said that remarks by Republican White House hopeful Marco Rubio over her position on abortion were "pretty pathetic." Clinton was speaking on the CBS news program, "Face the Nation" the day after Rubio, a conservative Florida Senator, said during a televised Republican presidential debate Saturday night that Clinton supports abortion procedures even up to "the due date of that unborn child". Clinton said the remark was Rubio's attempt to "buttress his credentials with certain parts of the Republican constituency". Rubio emerged from the first presidential nominating contest in Iowa last week as the leading Republican mainstream contender, and is portraying himself in New Hampshire where voters go to the polls on Tuesday as the party's best hope to recapture the White House. Clinton narrowly beat her Democratic rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, in the Iowa caucuses, the nation's first nomination contest ahead of the November election, but is expected to lose to him in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday.
