Some 30,000 Syrians fleeing an offensive in Aleppo, mass at the Turkish border in hopes that Ankara will soon let them cross. Mana Rabiee reports.

Aid workers helping some 30,000 Syrian refugees amassing at a border gate with Turkey in just a few days. The Syrians are escaping a major offensive in Aleppo by Russian-backed Syrian government forces. But Turkey -- already hosting 2.5 million Syrian refugees -- has kept its frontier closed to this latest wave of displaced, saying the refugees get the help they need for now on the Syrian side of the border. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) ANOTHER SYRIAN WOMAN, NAME WITHHELD, SAYING: "Let the world hear that we are dying. We are suffering a tragedy. We thank Erdogan and we hope that he opens the border so we can cross over with our families and the ill. Our life is very difficult here." The mass migration out of Aleppo is one of the most important shifts in Syria's five-year civil war. European Union lawmakers want Turkey to say if it's opening its border to the Syrians - even as tens of thousands more are thought to be on the move to this border gate.
