ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Republican presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio took aim at rival Sen. Ted Cruz's conduct on Sunday (February 14) and called on President Barack Obama to refrain from naming a Supreme Court Justice to replace Antonin Scalia, in an interview with Face the Nation on CBS. Speaking of Cruz he said, "Just this week alone he had to pull an ad off the air because it didn't tell the truth about my position on sanctuary cities. He's lied about my position on marriage, he's lied about Planned Parenthood and my position on that," Rubio said. "And he is not being honest about his previous position on on immigrations, he tries to portray himself as some sort of purist but his record is something very different," he added. "And these things are being exposed in the campaign and it's it's really a troubling trend." "We all want to win, but you can't just make things up," Rubio continued. "It speaks to how you conduct yourself, especially in high intensity situations, so I think it is very troubling," he said. Turning to the Supreme Court following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, Rubio said he hopes that Obama will not name a replacement. "He can nominate someone, the Senate is not moving forward till after the elections,." Rubio said. "We are going to have an election in November, this vacancy is going to be an issue in this election, the voters are going to get to weigh in and then they will choose a new president, and then that new president, which I expect will be me, will then be able to nominate someone and then work with the Senate to confirm him," he said. "The president can decide what he wants, I am just telling you the Senate is not moving forward until we have a new president, and I agree with that," Rubio added. The South Carolina Republican primary is scheduled to be held on February 20th. The latest Real Clear Politics polls shows Rubio coming in in third place in the contest to become the party's Republican nominee for the Nov. 8 election.
