ROUGH CUT (no reporter narration) STORY: Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio criticized fellow candidate Ted Cruz's actions during the campaign and for his record on national security, Wednesday. "He gives a speech about how he's going to rebuild the military after he's voted against rebuilding it three times in the senate. The only budget he's ever voted for was Rand Paul's budget, and it was a budget that bragged about cutting defense spending, so I'm glad that he's now found, converted himself to someone who wants to support national security, but he should have done that before he got to South Carolina," Rubio said during a stop in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Rubio slammed Cruz, saying the Texas senator will "say or do anything to get elected." "He went around saying that I didn't want to fight against Planned Parenthood or that I have the same position on marriage as Barack Obama, when you say something so outlandish, you're going to get challenged on it. When you say something outlandish and untrue every day, I think it does reflect the kind of campaign that you're running, and what you're capable and willing to do in order to win. I've been saying for awhile now that Ted, unfortunately, has proven that he's willing to say or do anything to get elected. I don't think that's a positive thing to see in a president," Rubio said. The Republican primary election for president takes place Saturday, February 20, 2016.
