He says it was an agonizingly difficult decision but London mayor Boris Johnson has decided to back Britain's exit from the European Union. The country will vote in June on whether to stay in or go. (SOUNDBITE) (English) LONDON MAYOR, BORIS JOHNSON, SAYING: "I've decided after a huge amount of heartache because I did not want to do anything, the last thing I wanted was to go against David Cameron or the government, but after a great deal of heartache I don't think there's anything else I can do, I will be advocating Vote Leave." His decision is a big blow to Prime Minister David Cameron who had implored Johnson not to join the campaign for the so-called "Brexit." Cameron said a deal struck on Friday in Brussels with other EU leaders would give Britain special status in the bloc. But Johnson said the deal fails to deliver fundamental reform.
