Two contestants in the iconic Iditarod sled dog race are mushing on, despite being hit by a snowmobiler. Second place musher Jeff King says someone on a snowmobile hit his sled, as he was pulling into the town of Nulato, Alaska, about 580 miles into the thousand-yard race. One of his dogs was killed. Two others were injured. "It's very sad to know that anyone has such a low...regard for life and injury that they let themselves get into a position to do bad things." Nulato residents say the incident is not typical of their village. "This place is a pretty friendly place...we all look out for each other." "It was very tragic for what happened...we're all in shock." The snowmobiler also hit lead musher Aliy Zirkle, who has joined the race more than a dozen times but never claimed victory. Both Zirkle and King plan to continue the race. "It we're up to it. I admit the wind is kind of out of my sails at the moment." Race officials say police have identified a suspect and are investigating.
