Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards was the underdog hero of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, trying and mostly failing to be an Olympic ski jumper. While he may have been a loser, he won the hearts of many around the world to such an extent that a movie has been made about him over 25 years later. SOUNDBITE Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, saying (English): "I never thought 28 years ago that this would happen, and that they would make a film about my life and that it would be so good. They've done a fantastic job. And I've seen it three times and I cry every time I see it, and I just hope I don't cry tonight, but I'm trying to hold it together." Eddie didn't have too many bad landings at the European premiere of the film, which sees 'Kingsman' star Taron Egerton don Eddie's famous thick lensed glasses. SOUNDBITE Taron Egerton, saying (English): "We always wanted to create something that was very affectionate and celebratory and, you know, championed him and reminded people that actually what he did was a really cool, amazing thing. So yeah, I certainly don't think that, I think he was a bit of a legend." According to reports, Egerton is down to the final three to play iconic Star Wars character Han Solo in a spin-off movie. SOUNDBITE Taron Egerton, saying (English): "Yeah I saw the article on the internet. If they're serious about it, then they know where to find me." Egerton's co-star Hugh Jackman first became internationally known after appearing in 'Oklahoma!' in London's West End. But would he return to the theaters that made him famous? SOUNDBITE Hugh Jackman, saying (English): "'Oklahoma' was, wow, almost 20 years ago. Hopefully I'll be back very soon. Maybe I'll do something with him, he's a very good singer." 'Eddie the Eagle' lands in UK cinemas on March 28.
