ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump appeared to try to dodge a question about whether abortion is murder, during an interview on CBS's Face the Nation on Sunday (April 3). Trump insisted that he'd "rather not comment" but when pressed by moderator John Dickerson he said "I don't disagree" with that statement. Earlier in the week, the billionaire White House hopeful rowed back rapidly from his statement that women should be punished for having abortions if the procedure is banned in the United States. The comments triggered a flood of rebukes from both sides of the abortion debate, and his campaign tried to address the repercussions. Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson described the initial comments as a "simple misspeak." During his appearance on Face the Nation, Trump also said that abortion should be an issue for states to decide.
