ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Republican presidential candidate John Kasich holds a town hall at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut on Friday (April 8) and tells the audience how to fix America's problems. "If you want to see the spirit of our country renewed. You want to see hope come back to America? It's in you," said Kasich. He added, "You got a drug problem here? Go fix it. Stick your nose into somebody else's business and go fix it." Kasich is positioning himself as a mainstream candidate who could emerge from a contested convention. A Reuters/Ipsos poll on Tuesday (April 5) showed Texas Senator Ted Cruz statistically even with Donald Trump among Republicans nationally. His recent gains marked the first time since November that a rival had threatened Trump's standing at the head of the Republican pack. Trump has 743 delegates, Cruz 517, and Kasich 143, according to an Associated Press count. Trump would need to win about 55 percent of the remaining delegates to reach the 1,237 threshold.
