ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz reminded supporters in Maryland that "Today is tax day," as he pledged to simplify returns and renewed a call to "abolish the IRS." Cruz speaking in Towson, Maryland said, "A whole lot of people here spend a lot of money, a lot of time, a lot of hours, filling out meaningless paper work. Well in a couple of years everyone of us is going to fill out our tax return on a post card." Cruz will later campaign in New York where he has been criticized by some voters for speaking disdainfully of "New York values" earlier this year in an attempt to discredit rival Donald Trump. Polls show Trump with a string lead in new York which holds primaries on Tuesday, April 19th. The Republican primary in maryland will be held April 26.
