SUBTITLED ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Salah Abdeslam's French lawyer Frank Berton, said on Wednesday (April 27) he was surprised to discover that his client had been transfered to France and he had not been informed in advance. "He is here. He was expected to attend a hearing in Belgium tomorrow, so I am pretty surprised that he has arrived today. We will see in terms of procedure what has been achieved so far," Berton said. Abdeslam, suspected of playing a major part in November's attacks in Paris by Islamist militants in which 130 people were killed, has been extradited to France from Belgium on Wednesday morning and will appear before French judges later in the day. Abdeslam, 26, was Europe's most wanted fugitive until his capture in Brussels on March 18 after a four-month manhunt. Berton said that his client he was expected to see in Belgium on Thursday, was willing to speak to the investigators but maybe not as soon as Wednesday. "He will answer them in the coming weeks. We will also read the file carefully. His state of mind has not changed, I will see him later today and we follow the same course," Berton said.
