ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) President Obama honored 13 public safety officers with the Medal of Valor at a ceremony at the White House. The Medal of Valor is awarded to police officers who have shown exceptional courage, regardless of their own safety, to protect others from harm. Of the 13 officers recognized, one was killed in the line of duty. Fallen Sergeant Robert Wilson III with the Philadelphia Police Department was killed during an armed robbery. His grandmother was on hand to receive the Medal of Valor for Wilson.
