ROUGH CUT - SUBTITLED (NO REPORTER NARRATION) In anticipation of an IAAF decision on Russia's participation at the 2016 Olympic Games, Russian athletes continue preparations for the tournament with hope the road to Rio will be opened. IAAF (The International Association of Athletics Federations) suspended Russia from athletics last year and is due to decide on Friday (June 17) whether Moscow has done enough to have the ban reversed. Russia was suspended from all track and field in November after an independent report from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) revealed widespread state-sponsored doping. Russian champion triple-jumper Yekaterina Koneva said she expects a positive outcome from tomorrow's IAAF meeting, but she also admitted that she and her fellow athletes, who are currently preparing for the Russian championship due to take place in Cheboksary in a few days, are worried about a potential ban. "We are trying not to think about it anymore. We are trying to think about something good, but of course, there is worry, fear, but we have to fight to the end," said Koneva, a world, European and Russian champion in her sport. In a new report released on Wednesday (June 15), the WADA said Russian athletes continue to fail drug tests and obstruct doping control officers. The latest WADA update on testing, which has covered a six-month period from last November, certainly will not help the Russian cause. WADA said information contained in its latest report has been shared with the IAAF taskforce that will present its report at Friday's meeting. Rune Andersen, head of the IAAF taskforce on Russia, told Reuters that issues raised in the report will be considered.
