British lawmaker Jo Cox has died. The 41-year-old Member of Parliament was shot and stabbed while preparing to hold a meeting with constituents in Birstall, west Yorkshire. A 52-year-old man was arrested. Cox was a parliamentarian for the opposition Labour Party and a vocal supporter of Britain remaining in the European Union. The attack on Cox prompted both sides of the EU referendum debate to suspend campaigning ahead of next week's vote. British Prime Minister David Cameron says Cox's death is a tragedy. She leaves behind a husband and two young children.
