Thomas Mair - the man accused of killing British MP Jo Cox - made his first court appearance on Saturday... during which he told officials his name was "Death to traitors, freedom for Britain." He's accused of shooting and stabbing Cox in Birstall, Yorkshire on Thursday. Her death has shocked Britain, and drawn condolences from leaders around the world. Her family appeared a memorial here in Birstall, where Cox's sister Kim Leadbeater thanked the public for their support. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KIM LEADBEATER, SISTER OF JO COX, SAYING: "We have to continue this strength and solidarity in the days, months and years to come as part of Jo's legacy." The murder also raised questions about the tone of campaigning ahead of next week's European Union referendum. Cox was a strong supporter of EU membership. Mair, meanwhile, faces charges of murder, causing grievous bodily harm, and possession of a firearm and a knife.
