ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani accused the Clinton campaign of misrepresenting comments by Donald Trump earlier in the day that stirred controversy in which he said gun rights activists could act to stop Hillary Clinton from nominating liberal U.S. Supreme Court justices. Campaigning for Trump in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Giuliani said that Trump had been suggesting that gun rights supporters could stop Clinton by voting against her, and was not making a joke about shooting her as some suggested. To accept that explanation, said Giuliani, "you have to be corrupt." At a rally earlier in the day, Trump said: "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks: although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know," he continued. The U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment guarantees a right to bear firearms. Clinton's campaign called the comments "dangerous." "If you said that to me," said Giuliani, regarding the suggestion that Trump was supporting violence, "I would say - 'Are you out of your mind?'"
