They gathered in Jackson to honor the lives of Sister Paula Merrill and Sister Margaret Held ...two Roman Catholic nuns stabbed to death at their Mississippi home. Police say Forty-six year-old Rodney Earl Sanders now faces two counts of capital murder in their deaths. But why anyone would target the nuns, who served patients at a medical clinic, remains unclear. Sister Paula and Sister Margaret are being remembered in their community for being kind and compassionate. And fellow Sisters say, they wouldn't want their killer to face the death penalty. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SISTERS OF CHARITY Of NAZARETH, PRESIDENT, SISTER SUSAN GATZ, SAYING: "For us to pray for him is exactly what these two women would want from us." The motive for the killing remains under investigation, but authorities say Sanders has a history of robbery and theft.
