ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. President Barack Obama at the Congressional Black Caucus Dinner in Washington, D.C. on Saturday poked fun at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump finally backing off Obama birth claim that the country's first African-American president started life as a foreigner. "I am so relieved that the whole birther thing is over. I mean, ISIL, North Korea, poverty, climate change, none of those things weighed on my mind like the validity of my birth certificate," Obama joked. Trump on Friday abandoned his false claim that Barack Obama was not born in the United States after spending five years peddling conspiracy theories that the country's first African-American president started life as a foreigner. Trump advanced a widely debunked claim that Clinton and her 2008 campaign had been the original birthers.
