ROUGH CUT (no reporter narration) STORY: U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen says the Federal Open Markets Committee will keep the Federal Funds rate at its current level, but says the case for an increase has strengthened. "We judged that the case for an increase has strengthened but decided for the time being to wait for further evidence of continued progress toward our objectives, " Yellen told reporters after the conclusion of the FOMC meeting. "Economic growth, which was subdued during the first half of the year, appears to have picked up. Household spending appears to be the key source of that growth... business investment, however, remains soft, both in the energy sector and more broadly," Yellen said.
