Florida is bracing for Hurricane Matthew. The monster storm that pummeled the Caribbean is expected to intensify as it barrels towards the southeast U.S. coast. Millions are boarding up and heeding the warning to find safer ground. SOUNDBITE: JANICE KIDDER, HOMEOWNER, SAYING: "My plan is to go over by the Embassy Suites by the airport, and park our cars at the airport, under the covered lot." Store shelves are empty and gas stations are running out of fuel. SOUNDBITE: UNIDENTIFIED FLORIDA RESIDENT, SAYING: "I've driven around looking for gas and gas stations haven't had any gas." Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina are all in Hurricane Matthew's path. All four have declared states of emergency and are opening shelters. SOUNDBITE: TIFFANY EDWARDS, FLORIDA RESIDENT, SAYING: "All my family is talking about you need to hit the road right now, but I don't want to get caught out there on the road with three children. So i'd rather just stay here I feel like this is the safest place to be right now." The National Guard is getting ready to respond in Florida as officials there brace for destruction they say, could be catastrophic.
