ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. President Barack Obama made a surprise visit to the White House garden on Thursday (October 6) as the first lady and school children from across the country kicked off the fall harvest. "Sesame Street" television characters Elmo and Rosita were also on hand to welcome the president. First lady Michelle Obama was in the midst of digging up sweet potatoes when the president walked up to check out her work. It was Mrs. Obama's last harvest in the White House Kitchen Garden as her husband prepares to leave office in the coming months. President Obama took a group photo with children clad in "Let's Move" tee-shirts, then hugged his wife before heading back to work.
