Clinton urges FBI to release more details about new email probe

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton calls on the FBI to reveal what it is looking for in newly discovered emails it is investigating as part of its probe into the use of a private server. Diane Hodges reports.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is calling on the FBI to tell more about the reopened probe into her use of a private email server. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE HILLARY CLINTON, SAYING: "Voting is already underway in our country. So, the American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately." The news came in a letter the FBI sent to Congress on Friday, saying it had discovered new emails, as part of an unrelated matter. That is believed to be the investigation of Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide, Huma Abedin. He's accused of sending explicit emails to an underage girl. The news comes just over a week before the U.S. presidential election. Clinton's Republican rival, Donald Trump. (SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE DONALD TRUMP, SAYING: "This is the biggest political scandal since Watergate and it's everybody's deepest hope that justice at last can be properly delivered." Clinton was leading Trump in most polls before the news was announced. By some estimates, as many as 20 percent of the electorate have already cast ballots. It remains to be seen how the latest news will affect the opinions of those who haven't.
