CBS projects Donald Trump winner of U.S. presidency

CBS and several other news outlets declare Donald Trump the winner of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, beating Democrat Hillary Clinton. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) New York businessman Donald Trump was declared the winner in in the 2016 White House race in the early hours Wednesday morning. CBS broadcast its tally of the electoral college results, which showed that Trump earned more than the necessary 270 electoral votes to win the race. CNN reported that Democrat Hillary Clinton called Donald Trump to concede the election to her opponent. AP and other news media outlets reported Trump as winner of the U.S. presidency to become the 45th president of the United States.
