ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The attorney representing a number of women who have accused president-elect Donald Trump of sexual misconduct says Trump should retract his statements accusing the women of lying as well as threatening to suit them for defamation. "He now has the opportunity to begin his term with a clean slate," Gloria Allred said during a brief news conference with one of the accusers, Summer Zervos, who alleges that Trump sexually assaulted her and who was visibly emotional throughout the news conference. "He now has the largest bully pulpit in the world and he has not taken back his threat to suit me and the others who came forward," Summer said in a shaky voice. "Even though it is hard and painful to go against the world's most powerful man... I refuse to be intimidated into silence, " she said. Trump has denounced the allegations of sexual impropriety leveled against him during the presidential campaign, saying the accusations were fabricated. Allred said she had no plans at this time to file a lawsuit against Trump for defaming the women but added that she will advise her clients to suit him if indeed he does take legal action first against them. Zervos interrupted her attorney towards the end of the news conference and asked "What happened to a good old-fashioned 'I'm sorry'?" At least 12 women have accused Trump of sexual advances and groping. Among his accusers are a Miss Utah beauty pageant winner, a businesswoman, a reporter and a receptionist. Trump has said the women may be motivated for financial reasons or political reasons or "the simple reason they want to stop our movement."
