ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Portland Mayor Charlie Hales condemned a night of anti-Trump demonstration that turned into a riot after violent clashes between protesters and officers the night before. "Last night, we had over 4,000 peaceful protesters making their opinions known on the streets of our city. But we also had some anarchists who hijacked that event and did terrible damage to our neighbors and friends," Hales said of the protests. Officers using tear gas and flash bangs to disperse the crowd. Police arrested dozens in Portland. Across the country, anti-Trump protests raged for a third night in a row after New York real estate magnate Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election. "Let's exercise our first amendment right whenever we see fit, but let's do that in a way that's neighborly, and in that spirit of Portland," Hales added.
