Easton to make West End debut in '42nd Street'

Sheena Easton is to make her West End debut at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane in ''42nd Street.'' Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Sheena Easton is to make her West End debut at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane in "42nd Street." The Grammy award winner will play the role of Broadway star Dorothy Brock. Easton said that she was excited to take on the role, "I'm definitely jazzed. I mean just talking to the other actors I got a real great sense of their energy so I'm really looking forward to it." 42nd Street first ran at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 1984 to 1989 when Catherine Zeta Jones performed in the chorus line. The new show, features a cast of more than 50 actors including Tom Lister, and will be directed by its co-author Mark Bramble who said, "It speaks to people everywhere, all over the world. The show has never stopped being performed from its premiere in 1980 in New York." Previews of the show start on March 20, 2017.
