When Donald Trump endorsed Mitt Romney for the 2012 presidential election, neither man could have known how toxic their public relationship would become four years later when TRUMP would be running. How things do change. President-elect Trump now plans a meeting on Saturday with Romney to discuss, among other things, possibly Romney's candidacy for secretary of state. The meeting would be an olive branch to one of Trump's sharpest critics. Romney called the billionaire "a phony" and "a fraud" during a speech in March, and urged Republicans to vote for anyone BUT Trump during the primaries. For his part, Trump was brutal with Romney, describing him as a failure for losing to Barack Obama in 2012. Strange bed-fellows aside, Romney will have tough competition if he gets, and wants, the job. Other contenders to become the top U.S. diplomat include former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.
