South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley will reportedly be the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. NBC says she has reportedly accepted the offer from President-elect Donald Trump. It comes despite the fact that Haley supported first Marco Rubio and then Ted Cruz during the Republican battle for a White House nominee. But after meeting with Trump last week, she described him as a "friend." The 44-year-old governor is the daughter of immigrants from India, and is considered a rising star in the Republican party. In 2015, she drew national attention when she called for the removal of the Confederate flag from state buildings after a horrific mass shooting by a white man at an African American church. She's also the first woman Trump has named to a cabinet-level post.
