When Mariah Carey has a new project, she wants people to hear about it. Her new TV series 'Mariah's World' is no exception - but don't call it a reality show. SOUNDBITE Singer Mariah Carey: "Well first of all it's a docu-series, so it's different from a reality TV show where they live with you and that sort of thing, although they were there capturing behind the scenes and the moments and the things that happen when you're getting ready to go on stage and getting ready to putting on a tour and it's a lot of work and I'm just glad to be able to capture that side of things because a lot of people never see that." While the self-proclaimed diva has always been a controversial figure, she insists that she's not worried about what the show's audience will think about her. SOUNDBITE Singer Mariah Carey: "Honestly, I can't get inside their heads and go, 'This is what they're thinking about me', I don't sit there and do that, so I just think this show, this docu-series is going to be something interesting because I think people are really, they just don't really if they haven't paid attention to me, they certainly don't know who I am or even the different sides of my personality so I'm kind of excited for it. Hopefully people will like it." While the new show would suggest that she isn't shy, Carey was certainly coy when it came to discussing her relationship with billionaire James Packer. Speculation has been rife over whether the couple have broken up, but Carey refused to confirm or deny the rumours. SOUNDBITE Singer Mariah Carey: "You can't put me on the spot when none of us are allowed to say whether it's true or not true. I mean, what are we going to learn? Look, I hope we learn a lesson of being good people. That's the best thing you can do and hopefully people will tune in and watch the show." Whether or not the series will reveal the truth behind the alleged relationship breakdown remains to be seen, but fans can tune in to the show from December 4th.
