Just think about how much waste your daily coffee habit produces. All those paper cups and plastic lids add up. Now, in Berlin, a new initiative is brewing called "Just Swap It". It's an effort to get people to reuse their coffee cups. (SOUNDBITE) Ulrike Gottschau, 'Just Swap It' founder, saying (German): "I got the idea to change something about three years ago when I watched some people sitting down in front of a coffee shop with disposable coffee cups and plastic lids and I thought something is wrong about the way we consume. We have to watch what we are doing and take some responsibility for the way we consume." The idea is for people to buy a sustainable cup made of bamboo and leave a cash deposit which they get back when they return the cup. But to some, the idea sounds like a grind. (SOUNDBITE) Zahra Idrissi, coffee drinker, saying (English) : "We are using these paper cups every day. I use seven a week, that's not okay, but on the other hand I forget stuff, I am lazy, so I don't know if I am gonna use the other cups." But some coffee shop owners using the new system say they are seeing a difference and they are starting to order fewer disposable cups.
