America prepares to remember the one year anniversary of a deadly shooting in San Bernardino. On December 2, 2015, authorities said husband and wife Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik opened fire on a holiday party of Farook's co-workers, killing 14 people and injuring dozens. Farook reportedly left the party after apparently growing angry. He later returned and sprayed the conference room with bullets. The shooting prompted calls for gun reform across the U.S. and became a major narrative in the U.S. presidential race. Both Farook, a health department employee, and Malik, were killed in a shootout with police hours after the massacre. Authorities said the couple were inspired by Islamist militancy. Before the Orlando shooting massacre, it was considered the deadliest such attack on U.S. soil since Sept. 11, 2001.
