Chung Yoo-ra, the daughter of a South Korean woman tied to President Park Geun-hye's impeachment, made her first court appearance in Denmark on Monday. She faces extradition proceedings after Danish police arrested her on Sunday on an Interpol request from Seoul. Chung Yoo-ra is the daughter of Choi Soon-sil, a friend of Park who is accused of colluding with the president. Danish prosecutors say Chung is charged with having committed extensive economic crime in South Korea. During her court appearance, Chung reportedly denied any wrongdoing. The influence-peddling scandal has roiled South Korea. Hundreds of thousands of protesters have hit the streets for weekly demonstrations against Park. She was impeached by parliament last month. And now the constitutional court must decide whether to confirm or overturn the impeachment. (SOUNDBITE) (Danish) JAN SCHNEIDER, LAWYER FOR CHUNG YOO-RA, SAYING: "I think it is disappointing Danish police and the Danish court has been drawn into a South Korean political conflict, which has nothing to do with Denmark. I am very disappointed with the result today." (SOUNDBITE) (Danish) JAN SCHNEIDER, LAWYER FOR CHUNG YOO-RA, SAYING: "The High Court will make a decision in a couple of days, and it is a case, which has potential to go further to the Supreme Court."
