ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, a prominent Masschusetts Democrat, on Wednesday (March 15) slammed U.S. President Donald Trump's nomination to the Supreme Court, saying Judge Neil Gorsuch favors corporations over people. "We don't need another Supreme Court justice who will help out giant corporations. We need a Supreme Court justice who will uphold equal justice for all and that's what we're here to fight for," Warren said. Gorsuch's confirmation hearing on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will begin on March 20 and is likely to last three to four days. After Warren spoke, she and others were expected to deliver petitions to other senators, calling on them to reject Gorsuch's nomination. Supreme Court nominees require Senate confirmation for the lifetime job on the nine-justice court. With four liberals and four conservatives now on the court, Gorsuch's confirmation would restore the conservative majority that had existed for decades until the February 2016 death of Justice Antonin Scalia.
