ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: International Space Station commander Shane Kimbrough and crewmate Peggy Whitson began a 6.5-hour spacewalk on Thursday (March 30) to carry out routine maintenance and to continue work to set up a new docking port for commercial crew ferry ships being built by Boeing and SpaceX. The goals were to replace an external computer relay box with an upgraded unit and to install micrometeoroid shields at the base of the new docking port, among other tasks. This is the 199th spacewalk devoted to station assembly and maintenance since construction began in 1998, the fourth so far this year, the sixth for Kimbrough and the eighth for Whitson.
