It's recent incidents like this that Berkeley says, prompted their decision to cancel conservative firebrand Anne Coulter's April 27th speech. But Coulter says she'll be coming anyway...despite what the university says. (SOUNDBITE) ASST VICE CHANCELLOR UC BERKELEY PUBLIC AFFAIRS, DAN MOGULOF, SAYING "You can't exercise your first amendment rights if the police can't provide the sort of security to allow the event to happen." The university says it doesn't want a repeat of February's violence, when a Republican group invited provocative far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos to speak. Protesters against Yiannopoulos smashed windows, set fires and clashed with police. The campus was put on lockdown. A pro-Trump event near the campus spurred riots just last weekend... But Republicans on campus say Berkeley must still stick to its commitment to free speech. (SOUNDBITE) BERKELEY COLLEGE REPUBLICANS SPOKESPERSON, NAWEED TAHMAS, SAYING: "I don't think Berkeley wants to be known as the campus that's too afraid to take a stand and support freedom of speech." Coulter says her speech has been, quote, "unconstitutionally banned" and that she plans to press ahead. She told Fox News on Wednesday night: "What are they going to do? Arrest me?"
