"His head's right there. Whoa, whoa, whoa." Dusty "The Wildman" Crum isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty... "Got him." Or even rolling around on the ground...if that's what it takes. Crum works as an orchid grower by day, but in his spare time, he hunts pythons... and it's paying off. "That's how we do it in the Everglades, son. Wildman. Woo!" "This might be my 16-footer I've been looking for right here." And this is just one of many. Crum is part of a python eradication project, directed by rhe South Florida Water Management District, aimed at ridding the Everglades of this invasive - and Evasive - species. "Whatchu got, Bobby? 16'10" Woo." It's not quite a record. That stands at 18 feet, 2 inches... but it is enough to give Crum a $375 pay-off. Not only that - this python was pregnant "See how fat it is. She's got eggs in her. She's going to lay those eggs any day." There are an estimated tens of thousands of pythons living in the Florida everglades....and while they may never be totally eradicated, Dusty "The Wildman" Crum, says he'll be doing his part to keep numbers down...and make a little money in the process.
