Van crushed by metal pipe on Florida highway

A man suffered minor injuries after his van was crushed Saturday by a heavy metal pipe that landed right on top of his vehicle on a Florida highway in Orange County. The pipe flew off a semi-truck after the driver lost control and the scrap metal fell on to the exit ramp below where the van was traveling, according to Florida Highway Patrol. ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) A man suffered minor injuries after his van was crushed by a heavy metal pipe on a Florida highway in Orange County on Saturday. A semi-truck was carrying scrap metal on Florida State Road 528 and as it was exiting onto westbound I-4, the driver lost control and hit a guardrail and overturned. A piece of metal fell off the overpass and onto the exit ramp below where the van was traveling, according to Florida Highway Patrol. "I'd be aware of your surroundings at all times. Constantly look around. Don't just worry about the road in front of you, look behind you, in front of you, next to you, look everywhere, " a worker a the scene said. The metal crushed the van's roof. The driver of the truck was ticketed for careless driving.
