Las Vegas mass shooting survivor recounts horrors

25 year-old Braden Matejka was shot in the back of the head during the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. He says it was the kindness of others that saved him. Grace Lee reports.

It was the help of strangers that got Braden Matejka to the hospital, after the 25 year-old was shot in the back of the head. (SOUNDBITE) (English)MASS SHOOTING SURVIVOR BRADEN MATEJKA SAYING: "It (the bullet) went in and went along my skull and came out about three inches later" He and his girlfriend Amanda were among the thousands attending a concert in Las Vegas when bullets started raining down. Like many, the pair thought they were fire crackers. When the shots didn't stop, they started running. That's when Braden was hit. (SOUNDBITE) (English)MASS SHOOTING SURVIVOR BRADEN MATEJKA SAYING: "I was like I think I've been shot in the head and she (Amanda) looked and there was blood all the down the back of my head down my neck and my pants. We ran and took another where four other people helped me. They took their shirts off wrapped around my head and helped me get to the road and stopped a random passerbyer. She let me go in the back of her car. And she brought me to the hospital." (SOUNDBITE) (English) AMANDA HOMULOS, GIRLFIREND OF SHOOTING VICTIM SAYING: "When we got to hold we got separated and.I had his phone in my bag which was dead. So I had to wait like three or four hours, I didn't even know if he was going to be OK." The Canadian couple managed to survive the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, where more than 50 people were killed and 500 more were injured. And despite his close encounter with death, Braden says he won't let this experience slow him down. (SOUNDBITE) (English)MASS SHOOTING SURVIVOR BRADEN MATEJKA SAYING: "It's not going to stop me from going and seeing the rest of the world. You know I think I'll live even faster now.
