They came to Greenwich, Connecticut to protest a New Jersey native. Hundreds of people in favor of gun control, including families from Newtown, voiced their anger on Monday over a gun control measure that was vetoed by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. He was in Greenwich to fundraise for Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW JERSEY GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE SAYING: "I feel that he's gonna win and and I feel very good about the race on November 4th." The measure Christie vetoed would have banned gun magazines with more than 10 rounds. Some Newtown parents said their children survived the devastating 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary because the shooter had to stop -- and reload his gun. (SOUNDBITE) (English) KATHERINE MOROSKI, NEWTOWN RESIDENT AND MOM, SAYING "Some of the children in that class said, when the bad man put down his gun, I ran behind him and I ran for my life to the firehouse." Inside the campaign stop, Christie defended his decision. (SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW JERSEY GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE SAYING: "I don't believe that the bill that was passed in New Jersey was an effective way to deal with it and so I vetoed it." A small group of Second Amendment rights supporters stood across from the anti-gun protest. But that didn't deter these Newtown families from being heard. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN SAYING: "We are very determined and we are not going away."
