US plans $1.1 billion cargo plane sale to India

WASHINGTON, May 30 (Reuters) - The Bush administration told Congress it plans to sell India up to six Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT.N) C-130J cargo aircraft and related gear valued at up to $1.1 billion.

The proposed sale would contribute to U.S. national security by boosting the security of an important partner and bolster U.S.-India ties, the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement Wednesday.
