Algerian army says it will do more to ensure peace -APS news agency

DUBAI, April 9 (Reuters) - The Algerian army chief said on Tuesday the military will do more to ensure peace for the Algerian people, the state news agency APS reported, as the North African country embarks on a political transition.

Algeria’s parliament appointed upper house chairman Abdelkader Bensalah as interim president for the next 90 days following the resignation of Abdelaziz Bouteflika. (Reporting By Aziz El Yaakoubi; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
