Thousands of Algerian students protest after interim president appointed - witness

ALGIERS, April 9 (Reuters) - Thousands of students protested in downtown Algiers after parliament appointed upper house chairman Abdelkader Bensalah as interim president on Tuesday, a Reuters witness said.
