* Keane’s hiring as CEO reunites two ex-Google executives
NEW YORK, March 30 (Reuters) - Associated Content, an online publisher whose investors include AOL chief and Google Inc (GOOG.O) veteran Tim Armstrong, has hired ex-Google advertising executive Patrick Keane as chief executive.
Keane, who also served as chief marketing officer at CBS Corp’s (CBS.N) CBS Interactive unit, will be responsible for growing the company’s profile, advertising sales and business relationships, Associated Content said on Monday.
Associated Content, which lets people post their own articles and other content to the Web and make money from advertising, was founded in 2005.
Keane spent more than four years at Google as head of its advertising sales strategy responsible for developing and managing plans and relationships for handling large advertisers and agencies.
He also was vice president and senior analyst at Jupiter Research.
Armstrong, who earlier this month was named chief executive of Time Warner Inc’s (TWX.N) AOL unit, is an investor in the site -- which was founded by his college roommate. Other investors include SoftBank Capital and Canaan Partners.
