11th Circuit declines to revive bias claims against AuburnBank

A federal appeals court has declined to revive a racial and disability discrimination lawsuit against Alabama-based AuburnBank by a former teller who is black, ruling that a district court correctly dismissed the complaint as untimely.

In a decision on Monday, a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the former teller’s argument that the deadline for filing a lawsuit should be waived because her former attorney’s negligence caused the late filing.
