Australia orders 21 mln H1N1 vaccine doses

CANBERRA, Aug 20 (Reuters) - Australia’s government said on Thursday it had ordered 21 million doses of swine flu vaccine being developed by pharmaceutical company CSL Ltd (CSL.AX), with mass vaccinations to start nationally within weeks.

Two million doses of the new vaccine would be distributed to doctors from next week, with pregnant women, the chronically ill and health workers to get treatment first, a spokeswoman for Health Minister Nicola Roxon told Reuters. (Reporting by Rob Taylor; Editing by Michael Perry)
