Australia shares set to jump, NZ rises

April 30 (Reuters) - Australian shares were poised to open
firmly higher on Thursday on the back of encouraging results
from a clinical trial for an experimental COVID-19 treatment and
a rally in oil prices.
The local share price index futures rose 2%, a
74.6-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index
close. The benchmark ended 1.5% higher on Wednesday.
    New Zealand's main S&P/NZX 50 bourse rose 0.5% in
early trade.
