Blackjewel and U.S. resolve 'hot goods' dispute, new deal emerges for mines

Bankrupt coal producer Blackjewel LLC has resolved a dispute over coal it mined that the U.S. government labeled “hot goods” to prevent it from being shipped across state lines.

Blackjewel agreed to pay employees past due wages, according to court papers filed on Thursday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Charleston, West Virginia, by the company’s lawyers at Squire Patton Boggs and the Supple Law Office.
