Oct 30 (Reuters) - Video-processing company BigBand Networks Inc BBND.O reported a quarterly net loss and said it will reduce its workforce by 15 percent and retire its Cuda CMTS platform.
The company reported a third-quarter loss of $12.2 million, or 21 cents a share, on revenue of $38.5 million, compared with a profit of $1.6 million, or 3 cents a share, a year ago. Excluding charges, the loss was 5 cents a share.
Analysts on average were expecting a loss of 10 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $36.4 million, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Manish Gupta in Bangalore)
